Welcome to the Junior Cricket Section of Loughton CC. Loughton has a vibrant and thriving colts set-up and has ‘Clubmark’ accreditation – the English Cricket Board’s benchmark for high quality cricket clubs with strong junior development programmes.
We are planning to run junior teams from U9’s to U19’s and welcome boys and girls’ aged 7 to 19 from all backgrounds and of all abilities. We also run a thriving Kwik Cricket group and All Stars Group (ages 5 to 8) on a Friday evening, which helps to generate our stars of the future.
Our primary goal is to encourage all our young cricketers to participate, learn about the game, develop their skills and enjoy their cricket.
We enter teams from aged 9 upwards in the Brian Taylor Cup (Under 12), National Cup Under 13 and Under 15, Don Coates Trophy Under 9, Haydn Davies Trophy Under 11, Len Stentiford Under 13, Jeff Rodriques Under 13, Cox & Kings Under 15, Matchplay Under 16, and Under 19 T20 competitions. We also have access to representative cricket playing public schools (Eton, Harrow, Felsted etc.). We are in the process of establishing development and academy teams that act as a gateway to adult cricket at the club. We have girls teams competing in local leagues at Under 13 and Under 16.
In addition to the above many of our colts are representing Essex CCC and Metropolitan Essex District Cricket Board through the various age groups.
We are delighted to have Terry Charrington (Essex CCC Academy, and EPP coach to run Masterclasses in the summer, supported by professional coaching staff (ECB Level2/3). Including current 1st XI and 2nd XI players.
The junior committee at Loughton CC recognise the value of a strong junior structure and are committed to actively promoting and funding our junior section. I wish to thank them for the help and invaluable support they provide.
We have kept the cost of membership at £50 for a year and this includes parental social membership. We have coaches and managers for our junior teams but need more helpers. We will assist parents who are interested with coaching, umpiring and scoring courses and also need help from parents with fund raising and general team management Cliff Greenhill Club Chairman
