i am sorry to advise that Harold Debnam, elder brother of John and a former member of Loughton has died in Australia after a period of illness.
Our condolences go to all the family.
Additional information:
- Harold Debnam played at Loughton Cricket Club for over 50 years from the 1940's to the 1990's.
- He was an accomplished leg break bowler and opening batsman.
- He played several games for Essex 2nd XI. He could have played professional cricket if it had not been for his national service.
- He also ran the colts section for 5 years.
Harold had settled in Australia for over 20 years and on many visits always enquired about the fortunes of Loughton Cricket Club.
He will be sadly missed by family and friends
